Medieval Combat Group workshops

On the offchance anyone has any questions about the content, background, substance, or method, thatt we'll be using in the workshops, or the weapons on offer, feel free to ask here

The groups facebook page has plenty of photos, and a few videos, for anyone curious about what a normal class looks like as opposed to a workshop, and a few bits and pieces from previous workshops at other Cons and heritage events.

Re: Medieval Combat Group workshops

Which weapons will you be using, and what will we be doing with them?

Re: Medieval Combat Group workshops

Weapons on offer at the workshops will be longsword (the proper 14th-16th century longsword like this http://www.regenyei.com/imagesB/data/images/img_9861.jpg) or messer (http://www.regenyei.com/imagesB/data/images/img_9909.jpg).  We'll offer each workshop the choice and go with the majority, albeit with beginner safe synthetics rather than steel

As for content, we'll start off with basic footwork, some basic guards and proper technique for a basic cut and thrust. Anything past that will depend on how the group is getting along.  We want everyone to get as much out of the workshops as possible, but at the same time, we're not going to throw people into anything they've not got the foundation to handle.

Re: Medieval Combat Group workshops

The group is putting together some publicity material to send around a few other places for demos and workshops etc.  If anyone that attended our longsword or messer workshops, watched our demo onstage, dropped by our stall, or dealt with us on the organisation side of things etc, wants to leave a one or two line quote or bit of feedback here we can use, we'd be very grateful.
Cheers all.
